WILMINGTON, Del. - Due to inclement weather, a pair of Goldey-Beacom College athletics events have been postponed for the upcoming weekend, it has been announced by Director of Athletics
Chuck Hammond.
The Lightning women's tennis team's match against Philadelphia University, which was scheduled to take place on Friday, Apr. 12 at 3 p.m. at DelCastle Tennis Center, has been postponed. A make-up date for the match, which was the Lightning's regular season finale, has not been determined.
Now 14-5 on the season, the Lightning will be hoping to earn a berth in the NCAA Division II East Regional Tournament for the third time in four years when the selections are announced later this month.
Meanwhile, the Lightning softball team's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference doubleheader at Concordia College, which was slated to be held on Saturday, Apr. 13 at 1 p.m., has been moved to Sunday, Apr. 14 at 1 p.m.
Now 9-21 overall and 5-11 in the CACC, the Lightning will be trying to snap an 11-game losing streak when they travel to the Clippers on Sunday.
