Ellie Fleegle Named CACC Volleyball Rookie of the Week

Freshman Ellie Fleegle (Berlin, PA) put together two solid matches last week for Goldey-Beacom and was cited by the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference as its Rookie of the Week.

Fleegle ended the week with 29 kills, a .510 hitting percentage, four block solos, four block assists and four digs over two matches. She had a career-best 15 kills on Saturday to go with a .636 hitting percentage, two block solos and three block assists vs. University of the Sciences. Fleegle closed Thursday with 14 kills, a .407 percentage, two block solos and one block assist in a 3-1 win over Bowie State.

It has been a steady rise this season for Fleegle, who has played all 26 matches for GBC this season at middle blocker and outside hitter. She is 39th in the CACC with 0.37 blocks per set, 42nd with a .145 hitting percentage and also had 1.19 kills per set.

Goldey-Beacom on Tuesday plays its final home game of the season, hosting Georgian Court at 7:00 pm.
