Five for Goldey-Beacom Garner CACC Basketball Weekly Honors

A pair of doubleheader sweeps not only helped Goldey-Beacom's records, but it got five of its basketball players named to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference weekly awards.
 
Lexi Bruno (Millville, NJ) was picked the women's Player of the Week and fellow sophomore Britani Bryson (Hampton, VA) was named to the Weekly Honor Roll.  Corey Taite (Sayreville, NJ) was the Men's Rookie of the Week with juniors Sameen Swint (Sicklerville, NJ) and Elijah Tillman (Garnerville, NY) each making the Weekly Honor Roll.
 
Bruno averaged 20.5 points, 9.5 assists, 6.0 rebounds and 3.5 steals over two victories.  She poured in a season-high 25 points Tuesday against Chestnut Hill in an 81-78 victory on 9-of-19 shooting with eight assists, five rebounds, five steals and four 3-pointers.  Bruno on Saturday vs. Georgian Court just missed a triple-double with 16 points, 11 assists, seven rebounds and four 3-pointers in an 82-63 rout.
 
Bruno became the eighth player in school history to record at least 200 assists, sitting at 203.  She also has 88 three-pointers, which keeps her in seventh place in team annals.  Bruno is 31st in the country with 5.2 assists per game, 37th with a 2.38 assist-to-turnover ratio, 25th with 36.36 minutes per contest, ninth with 57 assists, ninth with 72 field goals and third in the league with 16.1 points per game.
 
Bryson averaged 14.0 rebounds, 3.0 blocks and 1.5 steals.  She had seven rebounds and five blocks to go with 18 points on 7-of-14 shooting against Chestnut Hill.  Bryson then had a career-best 21 rebounds, including 14 offensive boards, to go with 19 points on 9-of-16 shooting vs. Georgian Court.
 
She is 75th in the country with 9.3 rebounds per game, 16th with 102 rebounds, 77th with 1.55 blocks per contest, 25th with 17 blocks and 19th in the league with 12.9 points per game.  Bryson also has 49 career blocks, ninth best in team history.
 
Taite averaged 16.0 points on 10-of-20 shooting, 4.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.5 steals.  He poured in 18 points on 5-of-9 shooting with four rebounds, three assists and two 3-pointers against Chestnut Hill in an 82-73 victory.  Taite also played great in an 85-51 triumph vs. Georgian Court, closing with 14 points on 5-of-11 shooting, five assists, five rebounds and two steals.
 
Taite is 21st in the league with 2.7 assists per game, 12th with a .750 free throw percentage, 13th with 3.7 free throws made per contest, 15th with a .389 three-point percentage and 11th with 1.7 steals per game.
 
Swint averaged 18.5 points on 14-of-22 shooting, 3.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.0 steals.  He scored a season-best 19 points on 8-of-12 shooting with three rebounds against Chestnut Hill.  Swint then had 18 points on 6-of-10 shooting, four 3-pointers, three rebounds and two assists vs. Georgian Court.
 
Swint is 15th in the league with 3.0 assists per game and 26th with 12.6 points per contest.
 
Tillman was a force in the post, averaging 12.5 rebounds and 5.0 blocks.  He was an undeniable presence against Chestnut Hill, ending with career highs of 18 rebounds and eight blocks to go with 13 points.  Tillman then had seven rebounds and two blocks vs. Georgian Court.
 
Tillman is 30th in the nation with 9.8 rebounds per game, 30th with 88 rebounds, 41st with 16 blocks, 45th with 1.78 blocks per contest, 32nd with 3.56 offensive rebounds per game and 41st in the CACC with 9.6 points per contest.
