Bryson Named CACC Player of the Week; Tillman Picked to Honor Roll

The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference weekly awards kept rolling in for Goldey-Beacom, which saw sophomore Britani Bryson (Hampton, VA) named the league's Women's Basketball Player of the Week and junior Elijah Tillman (Garnerville, NY) picked to the Men's Weekly Honor Roll.
 
It is the third straight week Bryson has been cited by the league, making the Honor Roll the last two weeks.  It is the second consecutive week Tillman has been tabbed to the Honor Roll.
 
Bryson averaged 21.0 points on 18-of-31 shooting and 15.5 rebounds to go with two assists and a block over two games.  She dominated the festivities Sunday in an 85-72 win at Wilmington (DE), scoring a career-high 29 points on 13-of-21 shooting to go with 15 rebounds for her third straight double-double, fifth this season and 12th career.  Bryson also had 13 points and 16 rebounds Monday vs. Adelphi.
 
Bryson has exploded in the post this season and has made herself one of the league's top frontcourt players.  She is 38th in the country with 10.2 rebounds per game, sixth with 133 total rebounds, 30th with 74 baskets, tied for 28th with five double-doubles, 38th with 4.0 offensive rebounds per contest, 45th with 18 blocks and 10th in the CACC with 14.2 points per game.
 
Her career .445 shooting percentage (199-for-447) places her sixth in school history and her 50 blocks are ninth.
 
Tillman averaged 15.0 points on 20-of-31 shooting, 10.3 rebounds and 2.3 blocks over three games.  He had 11 points and 13 rebounds Tuesday against U. of the Sciences and 17 points and nine rebounds in an overtime loss Thursday at American International.  Tillman then came on strong Sunday at Wilmington (DE), closing with 17 points on 7-of-11 shooting with nine rebounds and two blocks in a huge 80-74 victory.
 
Tillman has developed into a valuable, go-to player for the Lightning.  He is 25th in the nation with 9.9 rebounds per game, 14th with 3.92 offensive rebounds per contest, 35th with 1.92 blocks per game, 10th with 119 total rebounds, 23rd with 23 blocks 35th in the CACC with 10.9 points per contest and 10th with a .505 shooting percentage.
 
His 23 blocks put him three outside the school's career top 10 list.
 
Both teams are off until December 31, when the women host Millersville at 1:00 pm and the men welcome Lincoln (PA) at 3:00 pm.
