Corey Taite Named to CACC Weekly Honor Roll

Corey Taite (Sayreville, NJ), who has enjoyed a solid freshman campaign for Goldey-Beacom, has been named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Weekly Honor Roll.

Taite averaged 17.5 points on 10-of-22 shooting, 2.5 rebounds and went 12-for-13 from the foul line over two games. He exploded with a season-best 26 points on 8-of-13 shooting and went 7-for-8 from the line in Goldey-Beacom's 78-66 victory Saturday Wilmington (DE). Taite also scored nine points Wednesday at University of the Sciences.

A solid player for the Lightning on both sides of the court, Taite is 20th in the nation with 54 steals, 23rd with 2.08 steals per game, 17th in the CACC with 13.8 points per game, seventh with an .802 free throw percentage, 16th with 2.7 assists per contest, 17th with a .358 three-point percentage and tied for 18th with 39 three-pointers.

Taite's 54 steals already put him 10th among GBC single-season marks and his 101 free throws are tied for 10th. This is his third selection to the Honor Roll in addition to being named the league's Rookie of the Week three times.

Goldey-Beacom ends the season Tuesday with an 8:00 pm contest at Georgian Court in Lakewood, NJ.
