Garrett Brown Named CACC Men’s Golf Player of the Week

Goldey-Beacom junior Garrett Brown (Severn, MD), who already has accomplished a great deal in over two seasons, today was named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men's Golf Player of the Week.

Brown closed tied for 17th over the weekend at the Brown Golf Intercollegiate in Whispering Pines, NC. He fired an opening-round 78 on Friday and followed Saturday with 79, ending with 157.

Last weekend's play lifts Brown's total of sub-80 rounds this season to seven. This included 74 in the second round of the Glade Springs Intercollegiate last September in which he closed tied for 21st. Brown this season has a 79.0 average.

Brown last year was named All-CACC, made his second consecutive trip to the NCAA Regional and amassed four top-10 finishes. He entered this year fourth in school history with a 78.7 scoring average, tied for fourth with four rounds at par or better and tied for seventh with 51 birdies.

Goldey-Beacom is in action Friday and Saturday at the Bear Trap Dunes Invitational in Ocean View, DE.
