Lexi Bruno, Britani Bryson & Dante Thompson Make CACC Weekly Honor Roll

An abbreviated holiday week still proved fruitful for Goldey-Beacom, which saw juniors Lexi Bruno (Millville, NJ) and Britani Bryson (Hampton, VA) picked to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Women's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll and junior Dante Thompson (Coram, NY) named to the Men's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll.
 
Bruno closed with 20 points, five 3-pointers, five rebounds, two assists and a steal over 38 minutes Friday in Goldey-Beacom's tough 59-50 loss at Saint Rose.  Once again among the nation's elite, she is ninth in the country with 21.3 points per game, second with 556 minutes, fourth with 107 baskets, ninth with 40 three-pointers, ninth with 74 assists, 10th with 37.07 minutes per contest and 12th with 65 free throws.
 
Bruno is sixth in school history with 1,288 points, second with 364 assists, third with 168 three-pointers, fifth with 147 steals and sixth with 454 baskets.
 
Bryson finished with seven rebounds, two steals and a block to go with 13 points Friday.  Still proving she is one of the country's top inside players, she is fifth with 160 rebounds, tied for ninth with seven double-doubles, 20th with 10.7 rebounds per game, 21st with 87 baskets and 12th in the league with 13.0 points per contest.
 
Bryson is 10th team annals with 871 points, fourth with 86 blocks and sixth with 658 rebounds.
 
The Lightning (9-6, 5-1 CACC) enjoyed an eight-game winning streak and were ranked tied for ninth in the D2SIDA East Region rankings before Friday's loss.  They are tied for first with U. of the Sciences in the CACC South Division.
 
Thompson scored 18 points on 8-of-10 shooting – including 13 points in the second half – to go with eight rebounds in Goldey-Beacom's 95-84 victory Saturday at Millersville.  Thompson is 43th in the conference with 10.2 points per game, 11th with a .506 field goal percentage and 13th with 6.7 rebounds per contest.

 
GBC (8-3, 3-2) has won seven of its last eight contests.
 
The teams are home Wednesday against Caldwell with the women playing at 6:00 pm and the men at 8:00 pm.
