Williams, Ridgeway-Higgs Named to CACC Weekly Honor Roll

Yet another solid week for Goldey-Beacom junior Lexi Bruno (Millville, NJ) saw her named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week with junior Britani Bryson (Hampton, VA) and seniors Riyan Williams (Dunkirk, MD) and Parris Ridgeway-Higgs (New Castle, DE) selected to the Weekly Honor Roll.
 
Bruno earned her fourth Player of the Week honor this season, averaging 22.5 points, 7.0 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 3.0 steals over two games along with six 3-pointers and going 11-for-12 from the line.  She started her week with 20 points, five rebounds, six assists and two steals in Tuesday's 69-63 triumph over Holy Family.  Bruno then poured in 25 points on 8-of-14 shooting with six 3-pointers, eight assists and four steals Saturday in Goldey-Beacom's 89-64 win at Nyack.
 
Still demonstrating why she is one of the nation's most explosive players, Bruno is 16th in the nation with 19.8 points per game, first with 813 minutes, 28th with 56 three-pointers, 35th with 5.1 assists per contest, 32nd with 89 free throws and 17th with 145 baskets.
 
Bruno is fourth in school history with 1,404 points, second with 184 three-pointers, second with 402 assists, fourth with 492 baskets, fifth with 164 steals and eighth with 236 free throws.
 
Bryson averaged 9.0 rebounds over two games to go with 18.0 points per contest and going 16-for-18 from the line.  Her career-best 13th double-double of the season came Saturday with 23 points, 11 rebounds and going 13-for-14 from the line at Nyack.  Bryson also had 13 points, seven rebounds and five assists Tuesday vs. Holy Family.
 
Once again is showing her mettle as one of the country's top frontcourt players.  She is seventh in the nation with 239 rebounds, tied for sixth with 13 double-doubles, 30th overall with 132 baskets, 66th with a .496 field goal percentage, 14th with 10.9 rebounds per game and 11th in the CACC with 14.0 points per contest.
 
Bryson is ninth in school history with 985 points, fifth with 737 rebounds and fourth with 92 blocks.  She has made the honor roll six times this season in addition to twice being named CACC Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Williams averaged 20.5 points on 15-of-21 shooting and 5.5 rebounds over two games.  He scored 22 points on 9-of-10 shooting with seven rebounds, four assists and two 3-pointers in Saturday's convincing 115-74 win at Nyack.  Williams also scored 19 points on 6-of-11 shooting with four rebounds Tuesday in Goldey-Beacom's 86-68 victory over Holy Family.
 
He is 90th in the country with a .530 field goal percentage, 17th in the CACC with 14.6 points per game and now has been named to the Weekly Honor Roll four times.
 
Ridgeway-Higgs ended the week with nine rebounds and six steals over two games to go with averaging 16.5 points and 4.5 assists.  He played a big role in Tuesday's victory over Holy Family with seven rebounds and five steals to go with 15 points and four assists.  Ridgeway-Higgs also had 18 points, five assists and two rebounds Saturday at Nyack.
 
He is 47th in the country with a 2.45 assist-to-turnover ratio, 39th in the CACC with 10.7 points per game, fourth with 4.1 assists per contest and 10th with a .500 field goal percentage.  He also was picked CACC Defensive Player of the Week on December 5.
 
Ridgeway-Higgs is 15th in school history with 746 points, fifth with 238 assists and seventh with 109 three-pointers.
 
Both teams are in action Wednesday with big games at Philadelphia U.  The men (17-3, 11-2 CACC) are on a school-record 10-game winning streak and lead Philadelphia (10-2) by one-half game in the CACC South Division.  The women (14-8, 10-3) have won 12 of their last 15 contests are tied with U. of the Sciences (10-3) for first place in the CACC South.
