Britani Bryson and Dante Thompson Picked to CACC Weekly Honor Roll

In another solid week for Goldey-Beacom's basketball programs, more Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference awards landed in Pike Creek with Britani Bryson (Hampton, VA) and fellow junior Dante Thompson (Coram, NY) each picked to the Weekly Honor Roll.
 
Bryson averaged 15.0 points on 14-of-24 shooting and 12.5 rebounds over two games with two blocks, three steals and three assists.  She did everything she possibly could Wednesday in her squad's tough 70-66 loss to Caldwell, ending with 17 points on 8-of-11 shooting, 14 rebounds, three assists, three steals and a block.  Bryson then recorded her ninth double-double of the season with 13 points on 6-of-13 shooting and 11 rebounds Saturday in Goldey-Beacom's 62-51 triumph at Concordia (NY).
 
Bryson continues to dominant as one of the nation's top inside players.  She is third in the country with 185 rebounds, tied for fifth with nine double-doubles, 14th with 10.9 rebounds per game, 22nd with 101 baskets, 31st with 527 minutes, 72nd with a .429 shooting percentage and 11th in the league with 13.2 points per contest.
 
She is 10th in school history with 901 career points, fourth with 88 blocks and sixth with 683 rebounds for the Lightning, who earlier this season were ranked tied for ninth in the D2SIDA East Region poll.  GBC (10-7, 6-2 CACC) is one game behind U. of the Sciences (7-1) for first place in the CACC South Division.
 
It is Bryson's fifth showing on the Weekly Honor Roll in addition to being picked Defensive Player of the Week on December 20.
 
Thompson averaged 15.5 points on 13-of-26 shooting and 7.0 rebounds over two games last week.  He had 19 points and eight rebounds Wednesday in an 84-82 win over Caldwell before getting 11 points on 6-of-11 shooting with six rebounds Saturday in a 79-75 triumph at Concordia (NY).
 
Thompson is 37th in the league with 11.0 points per game, 12th with 6.8 rebounds per contest, ninth with a .505 field goal percentage.  It is his third appearance on the Weekly Honor Roll this season after being tabbed Defensive Player of the Week on November 28.
 
GBC (10-3, 5-2) has won three straight and is in third place in the CACC South Division and is one game in back of Wilmington (6-1) for first.
 
Both teams are home Tuesday against Felician with the women playing at 6:00 pm and the men at 8:00 pm.
