Amanda McGrogan Named to CACC Weekly Honor Roll

Goldey-Beacom's Breanne Haley (Elkton, MD) was tabbed Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week for a sixth time with sophomore Amanda McGrogan (Mount Laurel, NJ) and junior Corey Taite (Sayreville, NJ) each picked to Weekly Honor Roll for Women's Basketball and Men's Basketball, respectively.

Haley continues to dominate for the Lightning, recording 39 kills, 21 digs, seven aces, three blocks and a .265 hitting percentage over two matches. She had 20 kills and 15 digs Saturday at Caldwell for her 20th double-double of the season after getting 19 kills, six digs and a .280 percentage Wednesday vs. University of the Sciences.

Haley once again is making noise on the national stage by sitting 11th in the country with 461 kills, 15th with 4.81 points per set and 16th with 4.27 kills per set. This has GBC (12-18, 10-9 CACC) back in the conference tournament for the first time since 2006 and it will play at Caldwell in the quarterfinals Tuesday at 7:00 pm.

McGrogan averaged 11.0 points over two games last week. She scored 14 points on 5-of-12 shooting Saturday against in Goldey-Beacom's 51-47 win over Southern New Hampshire after getting eight points Friday vs. Le Moyne.

Taite averaged 22.0 points on 16-of-34 shooting with six 3-pointers over two games. He went on a tear Sunday at Southern New Hampshire with 29 points on 10-of-17 shooting and six 3-pointers. Taite also netted 15 points on 6-of-17 shooting Saturday against Franklin Pierce.

The women are back in action Tuesday at Shepherd for a 6:00 pm contest. The men are home Saturday against fifth-ranked Saint Thomas Aquinas at 7:00 pm.
