Shakeem Wilson Picked to CACC Weekly Honor Roll

Goldey-Beacom senior Shakeem Wilson (Brooklyn, NY) did all he could in a match-up of two first-place teams and was rewarded in being named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Weekly Honor Roll.

Wilson scored 17 points on 6-of-12 shooting with four rebounds, three assists, three steals and two 3-pointers Saturday in a tough 78-76 loss at CACC North Division-leading Bloomfield.

The loss was a tough one for GBC (19-4, 13-3 CACC), which now is tied for first place with Philadelphia U. (13-3) in the CACC South Division. The Lightning also saw their 12-game winning streak and seven-game road winning streak – both school records – snapped.

Wilson yet again is putting together a solid season by sitting 14th in the league with 1.5 steals per game and 35th with 11.1 points per contest. He also is 16th in school history with 719 points and eighth with 187 free throws.

It is Wilson's second honor this season as he also was picked to the Weekly Honor Roll on December 20.

Goldey-Beacom is home Wednesday for a big South Division game against University of the Sciences, starting at 8:00 pm. The women's game precedes it at 6:00 pm.
