Goldey-Beacom freshman Tevin Thomas (Dover, DE) added another award to what is becoming a crowded trophy case in being picked the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Baseball Rookie of the Week for a third time this season.

Thomas batted .364 (4-for-11) over three games last week with two RBI.  He had two hits Wednesday in game one against Philadelphia U., including a walk-off single in the last of the seventh inning for a 4-3 win.  Thomas also added an RBI single in game two, a 14-3 triumph in the season finale.

Thomas has been one of many bright spots for the team that just completed its inaugural Division II campaign.  He is 10th in the league with a .333 batting average, 10th with a .431 on-base percentage, 14th with 46 hits, 18th with 26 RBI, 23rd with 27 runs and 36th with a .391 slugging percentage.

Thomas was tied for first on the squad with 11 multi-hit games.  He also was second with a nine-game hitting streak, which took place during the first nine games of the year.

Thomas was named Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week on February 21 in addition to being named the Rookie of the Week on March 6.

Goldey-Beacom (10-35, 5-17 CACC) had an impressive first season under coach Tom Riley after the program was introduced in the fall of 2015.  The squad played its first game as a Division II member February 18 at Barton, its first home game March 5 against Queens (NY), notched its first victory March 24 at Chestnut Hill and its first doubleheader sweep April 21 against Chestnut Hill.
