Goldey-Beacom senior forward Dante Thompson (Coram, NY) has been picked the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week and junior guard Corey Taite (Sayreville, NJ) was named to the league's Weekly Honor Roll for a fifth time this season.

Thompson averaged 11.0 rebounds, 3.5 steals and 2.0 blocks over two games, in addition to averaging 14.5 points. He had 19 points, 16 rebounds, four steals and four blocks Saturday in Goldey-Beacom's big 80-65 win over Holy Family. Thompson also had 10 points, six rebounds and three steals Wednesday in a 76-52 triumph against University of the Sciences.

Again playing a key role in the post, Thompson is eighth in the league with 7.5 rebounds per game, 10th with a .488 shooting percentage and 35th with 11.2 points per game.

Taite averaged 20.5 points on 15-of-26 shooting and 5.0 rebounds over two games with seven 3-pointers, six assists and four steals. He went on a tear Saturday against Holy Family with 25 points on 10-of-14 shooting, seven rebounds, five 3-pointers, three assists and two steals over 38 minutes. Taite also had 16 points, three rebounds, three assists, two 3-pointers and two steals over 35 minutes Wednesday vs. University of the Sciences.

Taite again continues to be a vital player with his playmaking and scoring ability. He is 22nd in the nation with 32 steals, 35th with 2.13 steals per game, 60th with 35 minutes per contest and 85th with 18.7 points per game. Taite also is 11th in school history with 936 points, seventh with 214 assists, tied for fourth with 237 free throws, sixth with 132 steals, eighth with 111 three-pointers and 10th with 294 baskets.

Goldey-Beacom on Wednesday is on the road for a league doubleheader at Felician. The men play at 8:00 pm, following the conclusion of the women's 5:30 pm contest.
