Corey Taite Again Picked to CACC Men’s Basketball Weekly Honor Roll

It what at this point might be sounding like a broken record, Goldey-Beacom junior Corey Taite (Sayreville, NJ) was picked to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll.
 
It is Taite sixth appearance on the league's Weekly Honor Roll in addition to him being tabbed the conference's Player of the Week on December 18 and January 15.
 
Taite averaged 22.0 points on 13-of-23 shooting, 5.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.5 steals over two games with four 3-pointers.  He scored 24 points on 7-of-12 shooting with five assists, three rebounds, two 3-pointers and a steal in Goldey-Beacom's 75-65 win Tuesday over Georgian Court.  Taite came back with 20 points on 6-of-11 shooting, seven rebounds, three assists and two 3-pointer Sunday in his unit's 85-76 triumph at Caldwell.
 
Taite again continues to have his name all over the NCAA website.  He is 14th in the country with 42 steals, 23rd with 98 free throws, 30th with 2.21 steals per game, 35th with 668 minutes, 59th with just over 35.1 minutes per contest and 62nd with 19.5 points per game.  Taite also is first with 98 free throws, second with a .467 three-point percentage, third with 115 baskets and third with 19.5 points per contest.
 
His ascent in the school records also continues at a dizzying pace.  He is 10th in school history with 1,025 points, sixth with 232 assists, fourth with 258 free throws, sixth with 142 steals, seventh with 121 three-pointers and ninth with 323 field goals.
 
Taite's solid defense also has the Lightning among the national leaders.  The squad is third with 20.74 turnovers per game, fifth with 188 steals, seventh with a 5.2 turnover margin and eighth with 9.9 steals per contest.
 
His standout performance has played a major role in the CACC standings.  Goldey-Beacom (11-8, 7-3 CACC) is tied for first place in the CACC South Division with University of the Sciences and Jefferson.  The top two teams in the two divisions host a conference-tournament quarterfinal.
 
Goldey-Beacom is off until Saturday, when it visits Post in Waterbury, CT.  The women's game is at 1:00 pm and the men follow at 3:00 pm.
