Already enjoying a solid debut campaign, Livingston is 41st in the league with 10.8 points per game, 14th with a .770 free throw percentage, 16th with a .379 three-point percentage, 25th with 5.2 rebounds per contest and 31st with 33 three-pointers.

His effort also has the Lightning on the national ledger.  The unit is third in the country with 20.08 forced turnovers per game, fifth with 9.9 steals per contest, seventh with 257 steals and seventh with a 5.1 turnover margin.

Goldey-Beacom (17-9, 13-4 CACC), which recently enjoyed an eight-game winning streak, sits atop the CACC South Division and is one game ahead of Jefferson (12-5).  Those teams do battle Wednesday at 8:00 pm in Wilmington for what for both will be the penultimate regular-season game.

Smith batted .455 (5-of-11) last week with two doubles, a .636 slugging percentage and a .500 on-base percentage.  He had three hits and a double in Saturday's contest at Lenoir-Rhyne to open the three-game series before getting two hits and a double in game one Sunday.

Smith was picked a Preseason Newcomer to Watch by Collegiate Baseball.  He comes in after batting .310 a season ago for Tiffin College with a .458 slugging percentage and a .402 on-base percentage to go with 52 hits, 10 doubles, three home runs and 33 RBI.  He also was a first team all-conference pick in 2016 for Kalamazoo Community College and tabbed All-Region XII.

Goldey-Beacom on Saturday plays a doubleheader at Chowan to open a four-game series between the schools in Murfreesboro, NC.
