Trevor Jump Picked CACC Baseball Pitcher and Rookie of the Week

Goldey-Beacom's Trevor Jump (Wilmington, DE) continued the red-hot start to his freshman campaign in being named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Baseball Rookie of the Week a second straight week in addition to being tabbed Pitcher of the Week.

This marks the second time this year a Lightning hurler has garnered both honors in the same week. Freshman Mitch Guerrieri (Greentown, PA) captured both two weeks ago.

Jump had an exceptional week in going 2-0 with a 1.38 ERA, striking out 18 and allowing just two runs, five hits and five walks over 13 innings. He was on his game Saturday at Post, getting a season-best 11 strikeouts over eight innings, allowing just one hit and three walks at Post. Jump also pitched solidly Tuesday at Concordia (NY), striking out seven over five innings and permitting two runs and four hits.

He has won each of his last four starts, striking out 30 and yielding just three runs over 28 innings.

Jump this season is 63rd in the country with 6.68 hits allowed per nine innings, fourth in the league with a 2.77 ERA, sixth with four wins, eighth with 8.31 strikeouts per nine innings and 12th with a .171 batting average against.

It already has been a solid outing this season for Goldey-Beacom (14-20-1, 12-8 CACC), which has exceeded its overall (10) and conference (five) win totals from last year. It sits third in the CACC South Division with the top four schools in each of the two divisions advancing to the conference tournament.
