Goldey-Beacom freshman Zach Landvik-Larsen (Stroudsburg, PA), who made an instantaneous impact for Goldey-Beacom's Men's Cross Country program, has been picked the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Year.

This honor came October 27 after he closed eighth at the CACC Championship for the highest finish among rookies. He also was named all-conference for his effort.

This hardly was the only solid performance for Landvik-Larsen, who was the Lightning's top finisher in five of their six meets. Among his three top-10 showings also include ending second at the GBC Fall Classic in 28:01.1 and ninth at the season-opening Fleet Feet Invitational in 27:36.0.

All of this helped Goldey-Beacom enjoy one of its best seasons to date. The squad closed in the top 10 in four meets and notched seven individual top-20 finishes. Its seventh-place showing at the CACC Championship was its best performance in four years.

The women's unit closed eighth at the conference meet for its best showing in 12 years. The Lightning also closed with four top-10 showings, including third at the GBC Fall Classic.
