Goldey-Beacom College for years has produced a solid core of student-athletes and once again this was demonstrated with the school getting 50 presented a Division II Academic Achievement Award by the Athletic Director Association (ADA).

The award goes to a student-athlete in the 2018-19 academic year who recorded at least a 3.5 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale, has completed at least four semesters at that school and is an active member of their team. The same student-athletes also made the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Academic Honor Roll.

"Our student-athletes continue to perform highly in the classroom on an annual basis," Associate Athletic Director Jeremy Benoit said. "Having 50 student-athletes make this list is incredible. They set a very high bar which is evidenced by their academic standing in the CACC and they somehow seem to surpass it every academic year. We are very proud of our student-athletes in and out of the classroom."

Goldey-Beacom last year saw its student-athletes record a 3.14 GPA, higher than the overall average of the college. The college also had four of its teams win an inaugural CACC Team Academic Award for having the highest team GPA in the league, tying for the most in the conference. This included women's tennis (3.61), women's soccer (3.58), women's volleyball (3.47) and men's soccer (3.26).

The Lightning's success was highlighted by women's soccer graduate Cliona Crammond (Wicklow, Ireland), who was named second team Google Cloud CoSIDA Academic All-America in addition to being tabbed CCA third team All-America.

Crammond joined men's soccer graduate Chahin Aghrim (Bonn, Germany), volleyball junior Lindsay Przywara (Williamstown, NJ), Line Kristoffersen (Bergen, Norway) and fellow women's soccer junior Rose Benjamin (North East, MD) in being picked Google Cloud CoSIDA Academic All-District.
