Camilo Samur Named CACC Men’s Golf Player of the Week; William Kelly Picked to Weekly Honor Roll

Goldey-Beacom sophomore Camilo Samur (Bucaramanga, Colombia) was named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men's Golf Player of the Week and freshman William Kelly (Auckland, New Zealand) was picked to the league's Weekly Honor Roll.

Samur last Wednesday won his second straight GBC Fall Invitational, shooting 68 that was one off his career best. He went on a tear with three birdies on the front nine to go out in 34 and two on the back to come back in 34, ending three-under par.

Samur has picked up where he left off from last year's pace that saw him named first team All-CACC and close the season ranked 20th in the East Region. He has four top-10 finishes on the campaign, is averaging 74.4 over 10 rounds, ended tied for 16th at the CACC Championship and is ranked 24th in the East Region.

Kelly in the same tournament shot 76, ending tied for sixth. A key addition to the squad this season, Kelly has notched a pair of top-10 finishes that included ending tied for fifth at the Jefferson Invitational. Twice this fall he has shot 73.

All of this went a long way toward Goldey-Beacom this fall winning the CACC title, the program's fourth league crown. Sophomore Mason Kucy (Camrose, AB) won the individual title to help the Lightning secure their ninth trip as a team to the NCAA Regional and second consecutive.
