Goldey-Beacom saw five from its two-time reigning Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference championship Men's Golf squad picked to the all-league team and TJ Dekmar was tabbed the conference Coach of the Year.

Hunter McGee (Almonte, ON) and fellow junior Pablo Saenz Avila (Bogota, Colombia) each were named All-CACC a fifth time, junior Camilo Samur (Bucaramanga, Colombia) was picked a third time with junior Adrian Bonilla (Almeria, Spain) and sophomore William Kelly (Auckland, New Zealand) each getting their first such honor.

The 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons do not count against NCAA eligibility in golf, due to COVID-19 restrictions.

McGee during his time has been a warrior on the links, repeatedly coming up with low numbers in helping the Lightning get back to the NCAA Regional a third straight year.  The 2020-21 CACC Player of the Year and 2021-22 CACC individual champion this season closed second at the CACC Championship in a playoff after carding 210, including an opening-round 68.

He has six top-10 finishes on the year, is averaging 73.9 per round and is ranked fourth in the East Region.

Saenz Avila also has been a dynamo, amassing clutch shots and timely putts that also have propelled Goldey-Beacom into the spotlight.  He is ranked 11th in the East Region, owns a 74.5 scoring average and has seven top-10 showings on the season.  This includes four times in the top five, ending second at the West Liberty Invitational with 217.

Samur has been an exceptional talent upon stepping foot in Pike Creek, using his strength and overall solid play to help buoy the squad.  He is 10th in the East Region, is averaging 75.5 per round, won the Millersville Invitational with 145, was second at West Liberty and third at the CACC Championship.

Bonilla has had yet another stellar campaign that includes being ranked sixth in the East Region, six top-10 showings and notching a 74.6 average.  He won the Jefferson Invitational with 144, closed third at the Edwin Cottrell Invitational and finished eighth at the CACC Championship.

Kelly has showed plenty of progress these last two years and this has cemented his spot in the lineup.  He is 20th in the East Region, has a 76.9 average and three top 10-finishes that included third with 74 at the Husky Invitational.

Dekmar, who took over the squad last spring, this season has helped Goldey-Beacom to five victories and a second-place showing via a tiebreaker.  The squad overall this season has eight top-10 finishes among its nine tournaments.

Dekmar, on Monday named the department's Coach of the Year, just concluded his seventh season as the College's Men's Basketball coach.  The team has made the CACC Tournament six times in that stretch, including two semifinal berths, and won the 2018 CACC South Division title.

This season's CACC championship for Men's Golf was the team's fifth and its upcoming appearance May 9-11 at the NCAA Regional will be the program's 10th.  The five all-conference members breaks the team record of four set in 2004-05 and it is the sixth time Goldey-Beacom has had at least three.
