Men's Golf Sees Three Picked for CACC Weekly Honors

Goldey-Beacom junior Guillermo Gutierrez (Cadiz, Spain) followed his first victory by being named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men's Golf Player of the Week with seniors Adrian Bonilla (Almeria, Spain) and Camilo Samur (Bucaramanga, Colombia) each picked to the Weekly Honor Roll.

Gutierrez recorded an eight-shot victory by capturing the GBC Fall Invitational earlier this week. He shot a final-round 67 as part of his 140 to close four-under-par in a 24-player field that featured nine CACC individual opponents.

Bonilla was second with 148, including a final-round 72, and Samur was tied for fourth with 153 that included an opening-round 75.

It was yet another strong showing for the Lightning, who got their second victory of the season. GBC overall shot 595, including 294 in the first round, and beat CACC-foe Jefferson by 24 shots. Felician was third at 628 and Chestnut Hill fourth at 633.

Samur last season was named All-CACC for a third time and Bonilla was picked for the first time.

Goldey-Beacom this season is the two-time defending CACC champion and goes for a third consecutive title October 7-8 at White Clay Creek Country Club in Wilmington, DE. The squad's next tournament is Monday and Tuesday at the Pitt-Johnstown Collegiate.
