Goldey-Beacom sophomore John Ferry (Rising Sun, MD), a prolific athlete on the course, has been tabbed an NCAA Division II Men's Cross Country All-Academic Athlete by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

Ferry is coming off his best season to date, earning All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference honors after closing fifth at the league championship. The only one for the Lightning's men's program to compete in all seven races, he won the season-opening Philadelphia Cross Classic and was second at the Delaware Invitational. This earned him a spot in the NCAA Regional, closing 46th against some of the nation's top runners.

Ferry was picked to the CACC Weekly Honor Roll three consecutive weeks, which is based on athletic achievement, and also made the league's All-Academic Team.

The men's team closed fourth at this year's CACC Championship and had three all-conference runners for a second straight year.
