7/18/2022 12:00:00 AM

Goldey-Beacom senior Autumn Spendlove (Las Vegas, NV), one of the College's top overall student-athletes, has been picked as the school's nominee for NCAA Woman of the Year.

Spendlove now goes into the pool of other nominees from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference and the league will decide which student-athlete goes forward to the national committee.  The NCAA, usually in August, announces the conference winners.

Spendlove continued to show outstanding play at setter, consistently displaying her strong court awareness and ability to make everyone around her better.  One of the College's top student-athletes and one of its top leaders, Spendlove in 2021 ended fourth in the CACC with 8.59 assists per set, 11th with 438 assists, 23rd with 2.76 digs per set, 59th with 141 digs, recorded five double-doubles and notched at least 20 assists 13 times.

The two-time member of the CACC Academic Honor Roll goes into the 2022 campaign seventh in team history with 1,673 assists.

Community service remains a key component in this award and Spendlove certainly has that.  She has volunteered for the Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID), during which she helped improve student performance by utilizing best tutoring practices, providing support and building relationships that encourage elevated levels of student engagement.

Spendlove also is a member of the Athletics Department's Leadership Academy (formerly Student-Athlete Advisory Committee).

Goldey-Beacom opens its 2022 campaign August 26 at West Chester at 2:00 pm.  It also will be in action immediately following against Le Moyne.
