4/3/2025 12:00:00 AM

School-record winning streaks and the best league start in team history has landed Goldey-Beacom back in the national rankings, sitting 25th according to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.

This marks the second consecutive season and third time in the last four years the Lightning have made the national poll.  GBC, ranked in the NCBWA East Region Poll the entire season, this week moved up to second for its highest spot of the year.

Goldey-Beacom (22-6, 12-0 CACC) is in the midst of a 15-game winning streak along with a 14-game Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference winning streak dating to last season.  The league start is the best since opening the 2021 campaign 7-0.

Hitting continues to be one of the major stories for the Lightning and that includes senior newcomer Jaden Dickerson (New Castle, DE), who has provided the squad big play at first base and designated hitter.  A stalwart in the lineup, Dickerson is tied for 23rd in the league with a .341 batting average, fourth with 28 RBI, tied for fifth with five home runs and 17th with 29 hits.

Junior Anthony Charles (Mullica Hill, NJ) has been solid in the outfield as he is tied for 23rd in the league with a .341 batting average, tied for sixth with 24 RBI and 12th with 31 hits.  Senior Adam McEvoy (Sewell, NJ), who remains one of the team's most valuable players at catcher, is 30th in the CACC with a .328 batting average and tied for fourth with eight doubles.

Reigning CACC Player of the Year and second team all-region pick Braden Kolmansberger (Lewisberry, PA) continues to be one of the best hitters in program history.  The star shortstop has a hit in 17 contests this season and is tied for fourth in the league with eight doubles.

Goldey-Beacom also can attribute its success to its base running, already amassing 108 on the season.  The school record is 174, set two years ago.

Among the Lightning's solid pitchers, freshman George Starr (Franklinville, NJ) has been a dynamo in notching 27 strikeouts and just nine walks over 33 2/3 innings.  He has tossed at least six innings in each of his last four starts, recording a pair of victories.

Junior Kory Williams (Pennsauken, NJ) is another valuable addition who has been more than impressive on the bump.  He has 35 strikeouts and just nine walks over 26 innings, winning his last three appearances with a combined 23 strikeouts.

Senior Mikey Hawbaker (Hagerstown, MD) has 29 strikeouts and just eight walks over 27 innings with three victories, winning his last two starts with a combined 13 strikeouts.  Junior Nate Miller (Mechanicsburg, PA) is coming of a two-hit shutout against Holy Family, his second career shutout and first since a three-hit shutout vs. Post in last season's NCAA Tournament.
